Color fades faster when neglected. Follow these steps and your piece will stay vivid for decades.
Vibrant color tattoos lose pigment faster in open air. Keep your Saniderm wrap on 3–5 days for best color retention.
Warm water opens pores and can draw color out. Rinse with cool water and gentle unscented soap. Gently.
Color ink responds well to consistent hydration. Unscented Lubriderm or Aveeno twice daily. Fragrance is the enemy.
Color tattoos fade 3x faster than black in UV. SPF 50+ every time you go outside, forever. A faded color tattoo is a sad thing.
Your tattoo will look impossibly bright at first, then settle during healing. Final color is revealed at 6–8 weeks. Don't panic at 3 weeks.
Color work often benefits from a free touch-up at 8–12 weeks. We fine-tune saturation and fill any spots that didn't take evenly.

Yes—color is one of the best tools for covering old dark tattoos. We'll need to see your existing work to assess coverage feasibility.
